Blackmagic Design has grown rapidly to become an innovator in the design and manufacture of creative technology for feature film, post production, television broadcast and live event. Blackmagic’s founders have had a long history in post production, editing and engineering. With extensive experiences in high end telecine, film and post, harnessed with a real passion for perfection, Blackmagic set out to change the industry forever.
In 2002, Blackmagic Design launched the DeckLink capture card, making true 10 bit uncompressed video production on a Macintosh OS X system an affordable reality. It has continued to build on that vision, expanding its offering which now includes capture and playback, as well as routing and disk field acquisition, through to video and audio monitoring.
Blackmagic's range of digital film cameras, including the URSA Mini 4.6K, are defining the future of television production and filmmaking, combining the benefits of wide dynamic range image capture with the Emmy Award winning DaVinci Resolve editing and color correction tools. 2014 saw Blackmagic further expand it’s post offering with the addition of the Cintel Film Scanner and compositing software Fusion.
Blackmagic Design’s ATEM Production Switchers have radically changed live production, with a range of switchers that support up to single cable connectivity for the 2160p60 format, and offer hardware and software based control for live production up to UltraHD 4K resolution.
The company is headquartered in Melbourne, Australia, with offices in the United States, Europe, and Asia.
