This Themed Content Collection is the first of a new format for The Broadcast Bridge. IP implies virtualization and cloud computing, and in doing so makes available so much resource that we could easily be overwhelmed by the choices facing us. However, seemingly unrelated industries such as medical imaging and finance have been driving these technologies to their limits, resulting in well-defined systems that can meet our needs. It’s this order that we can use to our advantage to build scalable, flexible, and resilient infrastructures to meet the demands of today’s viewers.

Large-scale events have their own challenges, especially when we adopt systems that are outside of the closed infrastructures broadcasters are used to working in. But the increasing amount of knowledge and experience that broadcasters are gaining is both making IP achievable and practical for major sporting and live events throughout the world.

This Themed Content Collection from The Broadcast Bridge provides practical information on large-scale multi-site sports and live events for broadcasters. Technical insights alongside real-world applications have been brought together to deliver a selection of articles that will help any broadcaster looking to understand the new world of IP and its related resource.
