TAG And Zixi Elevate Monitoring Standards For Live Cloud-Based Applications

TAG Video Systems and Zixi have announced a joint solution that easily enables live streams to be monitored for all layers of the transport level across any IP-Network. TAG users can now leverage key elements of the Zixi Software-Defined Video Platform (SDVP) to use the public Internet and unmanaged networks to transport professional video signals for an efficient, cost-effective, and complete solution for pro-active monitoring and delivery of live video at scale.

The TAG platform provides a complete multi-channel monitoring solution for all live video transmission layers, from the TS packet header to the encoded video content and quality. The Zixi protocol is a resilient congestion and network-aware protocol that adjusts to varying network conditions and employs patented, dynamic Forward Error Correction techniques for error-free video transport over IP with 99.999+% uptime at minimal latency. The joint TAG – Zixi solution leverages Zixi’s Zen Master live video orchestration and telemetry control plane where users can utilize a single user interface to feed sources into the TAG MV layouts and send those mosaics to desired targets, enabling unified control and simplifying operations. Extensive alerting capabilities can be set for individual channels or groups of channels, combined with event notification, ensuring broadcast quality video is maintained throughout the workflow.

The all IP-software-based solution provides workflow agility, allowing broadcasters to launch transport stream monitoring systems in minutes, not weeks. Other operational benefits include Zixi’s reliability and consistent quality of service and experience at scale. Direct access to the Zixi stream enables TAG to measure underlying impairments and gives customers a proactive approach to addressing transport issues. Input stream support allows Zixi feeds to be received, monitored, and displayed directly by the TAG system, and output stream support allows TAG mosaic outputs to also leverage Zixi protocol when feeding remote operator displays. Encoding of input signals within the TAG system coupled with reliable Zixi transport allows for a visual mosaic of monitored streams in all broadcast formats and gives operators a user-friendly, reliable tool for error detections and alerting at scale, boosting user confidence. Since no additional servers are necessary, and there is a reduced cloud footprint, users also enjoy significant cost savings.
