Caton Technology Joins Grass Valley Media Universe Alliance

Caton Technology has joined the GV Media Universe Alliance, the programme developed by Grass Valley which brings industry leaders together to deliver practical, fully functional cloud solutions for media enterprises. By joining the Alliance, Caton ensures that end users can use the fastest and most secure connectivity for their cloud workflows.

The GV Media Universe brings together a comprehensive ecosystem of tools and services that integrate seamlessly to provide a familiar working environment on the world’s most agile production and distribution platform, Grass Valley’s AMPP. Critical to the success of any distributed workflow is the ability to transport content from production to the cloud to delivery, using standards-based formats and protocols.

This transport is best achieved using the CatonNet Video Platform (CVP), an ultra-low latency, high availability, high bitrate and multipath IP transport fabric for high quality media signals. CVP can incorporate the Caton Transport Protocols (CTP), or it can carry standard streams such as SRT and NDI. Content over CVP is fully encrypted using AES and protected using advanced forward error correction, while maintaining low latency for live broadcasting.

CVP will be demonstrated as part of the AMPP solution on the Grass Valley stand at IBC 2022.
