KDDI Steps Up To 100 Gbps With Media Links IP Transport Technology

Japanese telco KDDI has chosen the MD8000-100G Edition media over IP transport platform from Media Links for its latest channel expansion program to step up bandwidth 10-fold from 10 Gbps to 100 Gbps.

This higher capacity allows KDDI to transport more media channels via high-speed network backbone through transparent connection of the MD8000-100G Edition.

KDDI provides video and data transmission services within Japan and around the world and now has the opportunity to expand its multi-channel capacity significantly for both customers and end-users.

The MD8000 media over IP transport platform can convert raw SDI camera feeds to IP, transmit the content optically for switching through a media core network, before converting back to SDI if required.
