Founded in 2001, Blackmagic Design is based in Melbourne, Australia, with offices in Fremont and Burbank, Calif. in the U.S., as well as Manchester, England, and Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

With one of the most extensive product portfolios in the industry, the company offer products for content creators, whether they’re in feature film, post-production or the television broadcast industries. The strategy going forward is to develop and market new solutions that revolutionize remote project collaboration using cloud-based workflows.

At the upcoming IBC Show in Amsterdam, Blackmagic will show its existing products along with some new ones, including DaVinci Resolve 18, Blackmagic Cloud and the company’s new network storage solutions.

DaVinci Resolve 18 introduces a major new cloud collaboration update that allows multiple editors, colorists, VFX artists and audio engineers to work simultaneously on the same project, on the same timeline, anywhere in the world. Blackmagic Cloud is used for hosting and sharing projects, so users can collaborate on the same project in real-time with multiple users globally.

The company’s IBC exhibit (Stand 7.C49) will also feature three new network storage devices, Blackmagic Cloud Store, Blackmagic Cloud Store Mini and Blackmagic Cloud Pod. Blackmagic Cloud Store is an extremely high performance network storage solution with four 10G Ethernet connections and a parallel memory core that can sustain maximum possible transfer speeds on each 10G Ethernet port, all at the same time. Blackmagic Cloud Store Mini is a new network storage solution with the high performance of 4 M.2 flash memory in a RAID 0 configuration. With its built-in 10G Ethernet, Blackmagic Cloud Store Mini is extremely fast, allowing multiple users to collaborate on video editing in software such as DaVinci Resolve. Lastly, Blackmagic Cloud Pod lets customers use any USB-C disk as network storage, so they can build their own network storage using USB-C flash disks they already own.
