WTA surveyed teleport executives online in the fourth quarter of calendar 2017 to learn their views. They represented companies of widely varying size in different regions that served different market segments.

The result is a portrait in numbers of the teleport sector's future as seen from the people making it happen.

"Teleport operators have always succeeded," said executive director and report author Robert Bell, "by resisting the temptation to get too far ahead of the market, too close to the bleeding edge of technology or too sure of the road ahead. Last year, they faced a faster and deeper rate of technology and market change than ever before. In 2018, we will see if that tried-and-true approach to innovation will continue to deliver success."

World Teleport Association members can access the report by signing in to their accounts on the WTA website. Non-members can purchase the report from their site.
