Based in Schwabach, Germany, Peter Albrecht Electronik produces control and processing equipment for three main market areas: broadcast, digital signage and healthcare.
For broadcasting it offers a range of HD/SD/SDI inserter products.
The company's latest product, the SDI-3G-7xx, will be presented at IBC 2014 and is an universal device for inserting any type of analogue VBI or digital VANC-data into two independent 3G, HD or SD serial digital signals. The unit decodes AFD, VI, VPS and WSS control signals, teletext, subtitles and other data. It features an integrated generator for CCIR test signals and is described as being transparent for embedded audio. The inserter has functions for generation, modification and evaluation of VBI and VANC data, with possibilities for customised data processing. It can be remotely controlled using Ethernet, RS232/422 or GPI. The SDI-3G-7xx is able to switch automatically according to the video mode of the input signal and can accommodate SD-SDI (PAL), HD-SDI (720p, 1080i) or 3G-SDI. Other features include two independent PGM channels with one asynchronous VBI/VANC input each; eight GPI inputs and eight GPI outputs; teletext, AFD, VPS, WSS and Videoindex decoder and generator, data insertion in 3G or HD-SDI according to SMPTE 2031 or OP47; instant boot with the ability to operate within five seconds after powering up; a simple web-server-based configuration with regular updates; efficient power design (less than 20W) and passive cooling; and no need for an operating system or hard disk. Also in the Albrecht Electronik range is the SDI-HD-7MX 3G/HD/SD-SDI inserter launched at IBC 2013.
