Subscription programming provider, Starz, has refresh its post-production workflow and IT facilities with a series of Hitachi kit and Scale Logic’s HyperFS file system. In particular, the entertainment company chose a Content Platform (HCP) with Hitachi Unified Storage VM (HUS VM) from Hitachi Data Systems Corporation (HDS).

Calling it the Spring Release, the updated version will include expanded search and discovery features, enhanced multimedia format handling for non-video assets such as audio files, graphic files and documents, and a new approvals workflow for more streamlined feedback between users. The release is designed to make the management of professional video and production assets more efficient, accessible and cost effective, the company said.
