The recent spate of announcements from camera manufacturers about plans to market HD and 4K shooters capable of accepting B4-mount standard lenses has been welcomed by the industry and appears to have brought live UHD broadcast launches closer.
At this year’s NAB Show, the Optical Devices Division of FUJIFILM North America (aka, Fujinon) showed two new lenses in its 4K Ultra HD Series, a Field Box Lens and a portable ENG-style lens that are designed for use with any 2/3-inch sensor camera for pristine 4K production. Both models—the new UA80x9 and UA22x8, respectively—will ship later this summer. The company said it is now booking lens demonstrations with customers.
