Cleveland Market Goes Live With Silicondust Certificate Authority For ATSC 3.0/NextGen TV®

WBNX-TV (channel 55) has flipped the switch from the ATSC 1.0 digital standard to the new ATSC 3.0/NextGen TV® transmission standard. Silicondust, an ATSC 3.0 Certificate Authority for NextGen TV®, has provided the ATSC3CA™ signal signing certificates that will ensure the television station meets all signing security requirements of the ATSC 3.0 standards. Heartland Video Systems provided set-up services for WBNX-TV.

WBNX-TV (channel 55) serves the Akron and Cleveland, Ohio markets, and is the market's outlet for The CW.

Silicondust provided ATSC 3.0 signal signing certificates backed by ATSC3CA™ Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP) cloud infrastructure to WBNX-TV. This OCSP solution utilizes thousands of cloud edge node OCSP responders across 30+ data centers in the U.S., plus emergency fallback to conventional heavy servers maintained across redundant data centers. This robust technology ensures broadcasters remain compliant throughout situations that could otherwise result in televisions rejecting TV channels.

HVS also commissioned the system once it was installed at WBNX and provided ongoing support through the ATSC 3.0 launch.
