TJC Renews 3-year Deal With Cerberus

Cerberus Tech, which operates a global IP video delivery network from its base in Southampton, UK, has renewed a 3-year deal with TJC (The Jewellery Channel), to provide IP services for the latter’s 24/7/365 shopping channel.

The Cerberus Tech solution, Network 1, provides TJC with a fully managed broadcast-grade IP service, designed for low latency, multi-cloud compatibility and protocol agnosticism.

TJC is a UK home shopping channel and online retailer specialising in jewellery, home, beauty, fashion, gemstones and other lifestyle accessories. Launched on 4th April 2006, its TV Shopping Network now broadcasts to over 30 million homes across the UK and Republic of Ireland. Cerberus Tech’s role is to ensure that TJC’s live linear content service meets Virgin Media’s live IP ingest specifications. Network 1 delivers directly to the Virgin Media platform using established IP connectivity at the cable operator’s main site in Langley, and its back-up facility in Knowsley. By utilising a cloud-based approach, TJC aims to combine flexibility with broadcast quality feeds.

“When we first looked into delivering our content to Virgin in HD in 2019, we had traditional options and Cerberus Tech to choose from,” said Martin Willingham, Broadcast Manager, TJC. “From a cost efficiency standpoint, it made a lot of sense to deliver our content directly and in HD quality through Cerberus Tech.”
