The IP Showcase is a highly anticipated event at the NAB Show in April that annually brings together a myriad of companies with complementary IP technology that spotlights “real world” applications using third-party products. Attendees like it because they get a hands-on look at how IP infrastructure can be set up and managed.
The industry-supported group is setting up in the Central Hall at the NAB Show this year and has now put out a Call For Presentations.
They are looking for experts from related companies to host sessions on case studies that describe real-world accomplishments and experiences in deploying ST 2110 and NMOS systems; basic tutorials tailored to newcomers to the field of IP video production; and advanced technology presentations describing the newest developments in standards and specifications that have recently been released or are currently in development.
At various trade shows the IP Showcase has attracted hundreds of attendees each; often with standing-room-only crowds.
Sponsored by AES, AIMS, AMWA, EBU, SMPTE, and VSF, the IP Showcase will highlight the great strides that have been made in achieving an all-IP ecosystem that can be used for all of today’s real-world media productions. It’s designed to communicate current user experiences and advances — including the areas of system control and monitoring, security, emerging standards, and agile deployments — and show how the SMPTE ST 2110 suite of standards and the AMWA NMOS technology stack are improving media workflows for large and small deployments alike.
A special emphasis is given to explaining the benefits of new capabilities, such as TR-1001-1 from the Joint Taskforce on Networked Media (JT-NM). This specification enables multiple suppliers to produce highly-automated tools and control systems that support rapid, cost-effective initial system deployments and to fully realize the flexibility and adaptability that only an IP-based media production infrastructure can support.
At NAB Show 2020, the presentation stage will be the main focus of the IP Showcase, with expanded seating and placement front and center in the IP Showcase booth. A presentation provides an unmatched opportunity to offer a particular company’s unique viewpoint of how IP technology is transforming the broadcast industry.
