Imagine Communications Streamlines News Production At Media Prima Berhad

Imagine Communications has implemented a fully automated and integrated workflow supporting reliable, fast turnaround for news transmission at Media Prima Berhad, Malaysia’s largest media and entertainment company. Based on Imagine’s Nexio+ AMP high-performance video servers, the powerful, full-featured solution enables operators to work faster, smarter, and more efficiently.

Media Prima Berhad operates four television channels — TV3, 8TV, NTV7, and TV9 — and is also home to Malaysia’s largest content production company, Primeworks Studios, and popular video streaming platform Tonton. Looking to modernize and streamline its news production workflow, Media Prima Berhad implemented a feature-rich, automated Imagine solution that tightens the news production process from ingest to delivery over multiple platforms.

The new Imagine system combines the field-proven performance and reliability of Nexio+ AMP production servers, sophisticated ingest tools, high-availability IOX Storage, and the Nexio MOS Gateway, which seamlessly integrates with Media Prima Berhad’s Octopus newsroom computer system (NRCS) and EditShare asset management platform.

Nexio+ AMP servers offer unmatched quality and reliability (greater than 99.999%) for all broadcast-grade codecs and high-availability playout and ingest operations. The Versio Ingest Scheduler optimizes resources with an intelligent control application that simplifies scheduled and crash records. IOX Storage enables capacity or bandwidth to be easily scaled, and the Nexio MOS Gateway ensures all the moving parts in the newsroom workflow tick along like clockwork. Working in concert with the NRCS, the Nexio MOS Suite of tools ties together all components into a single, cohesive solution for making news.
