Globecast Scores Confederation Of African Football

The Confederation of African Football has chosen Globecast for two seasons of satellite distribution for their main competitions. This includes the recent Africa Cup of Nations men’s football championship, held in Cameroon.

Globecast is providing main and back up satellite distribution mainly in Europe and Africa but also occasionally to other territories. For the Africa Cup of Nations, Globecast worked with the CRTV, the host Cameroon broadcaster. Alongside satellite feeds, Globecast is supplying a technical team for control and monitoring in its MCR in Paris with the redundant feed taking a different route. It is also providing a commentary booth and is providing fibre links to CAF’s graphics partner when required. Globecast also creates streams for CAF’s statistics partner and also for CAF to ensure correct sponsor content insertion.

Pierre Ramon, Project Engineer, Globecast said, “We have a long-established relationship with supplying services for the Africa Cup of Nations, including the highly successful 2019 event. The TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations 2021 is one of the world’s great sporting occasions and we are delighted to have been selected by CAF to provide a range of services not only for this event, but also the Champions League of CAF TotalEnergies, the Confederation Cup of CAF TotalEnergies and the African Cup of Nations TotalEnergies, Côte d'Ivoire 2023.”
