LTN Global Partners With Pearl TV And WHUT

LTN worked with Howard University’s WHUT and the Pearl TV consortium to support the launch of the Howard NEXTGEN TV Broadcast Collaborative project in Washington D.C.
LTN Global enables the aggregation of HD-quality ATSC 1.0 and ATSC 3.0 feeds over its network, supporting both the WJLA and WHUT aggregated transmission points.
The Howard NEXTGEN TV Broadcast Collaborative project includes Howard University, Pearl TV, the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), alongside several broadcasters, educators, professional equipment, and consumer technology companies. The project also features a learning lab where enhanced television technology is developed and demonstrated, underscoring the prominence of its public and commercial collaboration. The rollout of NEXTGEN TV in Washington D.C. brings five over-the-air free channels for viewers at home: WHUT (PBS); WJLA (ABC); WUSA (CBS); WTTG (FOX); and WRC (NBC).
NEXTGEN TV is the first major overhaul to the ATSC’s standard for receiving OTA signals in 25 years. Enabling two-way interactivity and applications with internet connection, the standard presents viewers with more news and entertainment choices while providing broadcasters with a more interactive way to deliver content.
