Simian NOW! at NAB

New mobile app allows users to download and playback sales reels and other media using their iPhone or iPad.
Digital media management software developer Simian is presenting its new app that allows users to download clips to a iPhone or iPad for playback offline at NAB. Simian NOW!, available free through the Apple App Store, works without internet or Wi-Fi connection.
“Now, Simian users will never have to worry about lack of access to the internet in order to present their work,” said Simian COO Brian Atton. “Simian NOW! puts reel presentations locally on mobile devices, eliminating the need for a connection to present work. Media is available instantly, from wherever you happen to be.”
The Simian NOW! App works with iPhone and iPad, and can be used in conjunction with Apple AirPlay via Apple TV to stream media files to an HDTV or other display. The app complements Simian GO!, Simian’s existing app that enables users to build and send reels via iPhone.
“Simian GO! has proven to be an indispensable tool in helping busy professionals in advertising, entertainment and other industries share media assets and presentations, while on the road,” said Atton. “Even in today’s connected society, we often encounter situations where there simply is no access to a wireless signal or WI-FI. Simian NOW! makes it possible to view media without a connection, which makes it the perfect solution for in person and impromptu screenings."
Several other additions to the Simian toolset will be introduced at NAB Booth N7734.
