FOR-A Demonstrates Software-Defined Innovation At IBC2025

FOR-A will showcase how software-defined architectures are revolutionising broadcast workflows at IBC2025. Under the company’s theme “Connecting the present, building the future” they will demonstrate technologies that bridge traditional broadcast infrastructure with tomorrow’s creative possibilities.

The exhibition will highlight how European broadcasters are strategically implementing software-defined solutions that deliver immediate operational benefits whilst providing clear pathways for future expansion and capability enhancement.

The FOR-A MixBoard, powered by ClassX, continues to transform creative possibilities with its unlimited layering capability. This fully software-based switcher combines advanced features with an intuitive interface, allowing producers to create complex, multi-layered compositions that were once challenging with traditional hardware switchers.

The flagship HVS-Q12 production switcher delivers broadcast-grade reliability in a space-efficient 4RU package. Software-upgradable from 3G-SDI to 12G-SDI, the HVS-Q12 provides a seamless migration path to 4K/UHD workflows with up to 60 inputs and 32 outputs in 3G mode, featuring IP interfaces for both Dante and NDI® support.

FA-1616 multi-channel processor showcases FOR-A's software-defined approach with its "anything in, anything out" architecture supporting up to 32 streams, including both SDI and IP. Latest enhancements include expanded format support and improved integration capabilities. At IBC, FOR-A will demonstrate the FA-1616 working in conjunction with Hi-RDS (Hierarchical Registration and Discovery System) smart resource sharing technology, which enables different production "islands" to access shared resources without compromising local system integrity.

The new MRF-5100EX routing switcher, debuting at IBC 2025, provides multi-format support at resolutions including 4K and 8K, with audio capabilities including MADI, AES/EBU, and analogue audio. Capable of configuring up to a 128 x 128 matrix, multiple units can be linked to expand the matrix and provide redundancy, making it a flexible core product for system integration. An optional multi-viewer function also provides efficient monitoring, which helps the MFR-5100EX enhance production efficiency and flexibility for a wide range of applications.

Making its European debut, viztrick AiDi is a new intuitive On-Device AI solution that operates without internet connectivity, processing video in real-time with remarkably low latency. Trained on over a half century's worth of archived footage, it enables face and object recognition, graphic synthesis, and sports player tracking. At IBC2025, we will be showcasing our sports package with a live demonstration focused on its application in soccer/football, which will include drawing features (brush, arrow, and number), 2.5D ground drawing, motion data (speed, distance, and distance/angle), face recognition, and auto-score graphics.

IMPULSE (Integrated Media Platform with UnLimited StructurE) represents the evolution of broadcast production, consolidating signal processing, multi-view, switching, graphics, audio mixing, and media playback into software functions that operators connect using an intuitive graph editor. This "station in a box" concept eliminates hardware constraints and enables flexible remote operation via web browser from virtually any location.
