Cloudbass Taps arkona And manifold For Two New State-Of-The-Art IP Remote Production Trucks

Cloudbass new cutting-edge IP OB trucks set to support a hybrid remote workflow with arkona and manifold.
arkona technologies and manifold technologies, providers of cutting-edge IP core infrastructure solutions, have been chosen by Cloudbass, a UK leader in outside broadcast (OB) services, to provide a suite of solutions for two new state-of-the-art IP remote production trucks that will cover top tier football. The vehicles, set to hit the road this summer, mark a major step forward in Cloudbass’ expansion of its scalable, IP-based production capabilities.
Formed in 2002, Cloudbass remains true to its original mission of incorporating only the most advanced technology in its extensive fleet that now supports UHD, 1080p, and 1080i productions across HDR and SDR. Cloudbass has successfully been delivering OBs for many years, earning a reputation as a trusted partner to leading broadcasters and respected for its commitment to excellence, sustainability, and innovation.
Built in collaboration with dB Broadcast, the two new vehicles target both on-site and off-site workflows. The OB trucks are designed with sustainability in mind and are aimed at top-tier productions; designed around IP-based workflows to meet the demanding requirements of frequent and rapid redeployment while optimizing space, weight, and power efficiency.
arkona’s BLADE//runner AT300 platform was selected for all SDI gateway functions. BLADE//runner is designed with a highly flexible and modular software framework, offering a complete suite of live broadcast production software and hardware tools, including capabilities for audio/video routing, compression, and processing. The platform operates on arkona’s FPGA based programmable acceleration cards (PACs), enabling real-time instantiation, control, and monitoring of processing functions. Control of the BLADE//runner platform will be provided through arkona’s award winning EASY-IP interface.
The AT300’s small footprint and high density makes it ideal for truck environments with limited rack space, while its scalability enables seamless expansion and power efficiency to align with the company’s commitment to sustainability. The platform’s adaptability significantly reduces the technical barriers associated with live broadcasting, ensuring exceptional operational efficiency and high-quality production standards in diverse environments. Cloudbass also selected arkona’s BLADE//runner VCC option that provides high quality HDR <-> SDR LUT based conversion suitable for Tier-1 sports.
Cloudbass will also incorporate manifold technology’s low latency manifold CLOUD multiviewer into both units for powerful, energy-efficient multiviewer systems. manifold CLOUD’s unmatched flexibility and scale will enable Cloudbass to dynamically adjust to evolving production needs.
