SDVI Rally Platform Supports Cloud-Based Infrastructure At RTL Technology

SDVI, a leading platform provider for cloud-native media supply chains, has announced that German media company RTL Technology, a subsidiary of RTL Deutschland, is deploying the SDVI Rally platform as part of a cloud transformation project.

This move to a cloud-native media supply chain management platform, deployed by SDVI partner netorium AG, is intended to replace RTL Technology’s legacy systems. The Rally platform simplifies ingest and quality control for all long-form programs and short-form commercials as the first step toward modernizing the supply chain.

RTL Technology modernizes workflows that are tied to outdated on-premises infrastructure while gaining the ability to use specific media processing applications familiar to operators. The Rally platform provides RTL with a path to using cloud-based infrastructure and a mechanism for designing flexible workflows. Rally Application Services ensures that the tools RTL wants to use, such as Interra Systems BATON, Minnetonka AudioTools, and new AI services, are readily available and can be incorporated easily into the company’s new workflows.

RTL also wanted a platform that was as self-service as possible, as the RTL technology team wanted the ability to customize user interfaces and dashboards based on the different roles in the organization. Rally Gateway allows the RTL team to build custom interfaces to the supply chain that are tailored to each user group. This customization ensures that operations teams see only the information that is relevant to them as they fulfill their assigned tasks. Rally Gateway dashboards have also been designed to give RTL staff visibility into granular details about specific attributes such as costs and tool usage as content flows through their supply chains.

For this project, SDVI has partnered with netorium, a leading technology provider in the German-speaking broadcast market. netorium worked closely with both SDVI and RTL to help design and deploy the Rally platform, and the company continues to provide support services in the region.
