NAB Preview: Tedial

​With unprecedented volumes of content needing to be produced and new challenges to be addressed in an efficient and cost-effective way, media companies must be more agile than ever, says Julian Fernandez-Campon, CTO, Tedial.

Aligned with Movielabs’ 2030 Vision for Media Creation, the platform removes time-consuming and complex configurations via a common User Interface that “guarantees” an optimal experience and easy access to all applications, external systems (including any legacy MAMs, PAMs and DAMs ensuring business continuity), and features self-validation.

“The product represents a 360-degree shift in the way M&E deployments have been done until now. The new paradigm is a NoCode Media Integration platform that provides an ecosystem of applications and media systems out-of-the-box and enables workflow owners to design and manage process optimization in media tasks where humans are critical to the process. It has three main pillars that make up the key elements.

“First, it provides a Common Workspace, which allows all the applications to be accessible to the media and not the media delivered to the applications, this is crucial. This major change simplifies workflow design, as the workflows needn’t be aware of the specific APIs and the data models of each component making it simple to swap integrations within an existing workflow.

“Second, it has a Common Interface, so all the applications present the same methods, this is also known as One to Many Integrations. When implementing or configuring workflows, all the systems have a different API. For example, AWS Elemental is one API, and so on, and this increases if moving from one cloud to another. The third pillar includes a Normalized Data Model so all the applications speak the same language. This means that all the information that is used, to be written to the content, is in the same normalized format.”

Tedial has designed smartWork natively with microservices and kubernetes to provide future proofing and scalability of both media operations and resources adopting an Infrastructure as a Code (IaaC) approach to deploy OnPrems or using different cloud vendors.
