Dreamia Picks Kaltura For Kids Streaming

Kaltura, a New York based developer of online video technology, is providing an end-to-end multiscreen streaming platform for thematic channel producer Dreamia.

This package, comprising the Kaltura TV Platform complemented by a front end and UI, is supporting the kids’ OTT service Panda+, which has just gone live.

Kaltura delivered the platform within four months in time for launch of the Panda+ channel available exclusively for subscribers of Portugal’s telecommunications operators to access over the web, via iOS or Android mobile devices. Dreamia, a joint venture between Portuguese cable operator NOS and AMC Networks International Southern Europe, is using Cloud TV delivery, choosing Kaltura as technology partner because of its experience in that department.

“Thanks to Kaltura’s end-to-end service platform, we are confident that customers streaming content from the Panda+ SVOD service can enjoy a friendly multiscreen user experience,” said Susanna Barbato, Director at Dreamia. “Furthermore, Kaltura delivered the solution in just four months, enabling us to launch extremely fast; we’re delighted to have Kaltura, with its impressive Cloud TV track record, proven technology, and customer focus, as our partner,” she added.

The package enables Dreamia to deliver the Panda+ SVOD user experience (UX), while ensuring interoperability with existing pre-integrated system components. Subscription-based Panda+ offers both VOD and live TV. The new UX is naturally kid-centric, being designed for easy navigation and content location.
