Elisa Deploys Hybrid Multiscreen TV In Estonia On Android TV Operator Tier With 3SS
Estonian multiservice TV provider Elisa has gone live with a hybrid multiscreen service assisted by 3Screen Solutions (3SS) as prime contractor, along with NAGRA, Technicolor Connected Home, and t4h. (Tech4home) as key technology suppliers.
The new offering called Elisa Elamus, described as super-aggregated, is based on Android TV OS Operator Tier, available via DVB-C (cable), DVB-T (terrestrial), IPTV and OTT platforms.
Elisa Elamus includes GooglePlay Movies and TV, Amazon Prime Video, Viaplay and YouTube, among over 150 channels. The service is enabled by 3SS’ 3READY Product Framework, Technicolor PEARL STB (set-top box), with t4h (Tech4home) NOTUS Custom CoverRemote Control, while content and revenue protection comes from NAGRA Cardless CAS.
3SS delivered a unified experience on all apps supporting a wide range of devices with PEARL STB at the nexus. Further apps enable viewing on Web, Android TV sets, Android and iOS mobile phones and tablets. 3SS-engineered apps for Samsung Tizen and LG webOS smart TVs will be available soon.
Elisa appointed Germany’s 3SS as prime integrator for the project in 2019. Elisa Elamus is built on 3SS’ 3READY Product Framework, along with a UX co-defined, co-designed and co-developed with Elisa. This is fully branded, with the Custom Launcher at the center of the overall experience.
Elisa selected the Technicolor PEARL STB platform, which provides premium 4K Ultra HD 2160p/60 and High Dynamic Range (HDR) OTT TV services in a small and customizable design. Then the PEARL STB embeds Technicolor TV Data Analytics agent, providing Elisa with a detailed view of the operational STB performance covering the hardware, software and apps usage aspects.
The RedDot NOTUS custom cover remote control from t4h (Tech4home) as part of the Elisa Elamus platform. NOTUS offers exchangeable RCU covers, a smart swap function, with built-in Google Assistant button and premium back-lit keys.
