UK global IP video delivery network provider Cerberus has launched a new version of its Livelink SaaS (Software as a Service) live delivery platform, allowing users to manage live feeds from any location.
Livelink is an IP delivery package for transporting live linear and OTT content point-to-point or multi-point. Users can manage their live content for delivery to any destination worldwide over whatever cloud environments are available in relevant regions. It will run over any cloud compatible with transport protocols such as Zixi, RIST, SRT, HLS and RTMP.
Cerberus describes Livelink as an on demand infrastructure allowing requirements to be scaled up or down within minutes. This can be done through a self-service interface, with integrated rights management, automatic booking updates and customizable monitoring so that customers can set alerts and retain control over delivery.
The self-management interface monitors availability, routing and scheduling for all feeds, as well as tracking cloud environment costs. Cerberus can fulfil hardware requirements, direct to the end user if required. However, in many instances no additional hardware is required for set-up, just an internet connection.
“The return to live sports events and the backlog of matches has meant that the existing infrastructure is struggling to keep up with demand and event concurrency,” said Chris Clarke, CEO, Cerberus. “Livelink enables broadcasters and production companies to be the architects of their own environment, delivering feeds extremely cost-effectively and with very quick set-up times.”
