Mobile Viewpoint Launches Camera For Remote Live Streaming

Mobile Viewpoint, a Netherlands based mobile encoding technology firm, has launched an all-in-one mobile camera system for live streaming.

The firm said this had been developed in response to requests from organizations whose journalists, reporters and presenters are being forced to work from home. The resulting Trolly Live solution is a self-contained camera unit incorporating functions required to present a professional live stream from a remote location.

Mobile Viewpoint has grown up as a designer of mobile transmitters for a range of live streaming use cases. 

The Trolly Live combines camera and encoder in a self-contained mobile unit designed to be easy to set-up and operate. The unit comes with a screen that can be used for return video or for an autocue presentation and includes IFB (Interruptible Foldback) for audio return from a remote director. An off-the-shelf microphone can be used or supplied as an option.

The unit can live stream directly as a web cast, for social media. Alternatively, with a decoder unit installed in the broadcast center, it is possible to support live broadcast workflows where HD-SDI is required at the receiving end. The inbuilt H.265 encoder can live stream either via a direct wired LAN connection or Wi-Fi, and there is an option to support multiple 4G networks via built-in modems. It supports bonding of multiple connections into a single link for increased reliability and bandwidth.

The unit can be remotely managed via Mobile Viewpoint’s management portal Linkmatrix, which is available free of charge to the firm’s users. The camera supports PTZ (Pan Tilt Zoom), so that it can be controlled remotely.
