Custom Consoles Adds New Features to MediaWall Monitor Mounting System

Custom Consoles has added several new features and refinements to its MediaWall monitor mounting system, which allows video display panels, loudspeakers and auxiliary devices such as studio clocks to be integrated into a single structure. Applications also include presentation suites and studio backdrops.

Neil Reed, Managing Director at Custom Consoles, said MediaWall was first introduced in 2006 and developed to meet a requirement for robust and easily assembled monitor display mounts at Scottish broadcaster STV. Major customers for MediaWall in recent years have included Al Sharqiya, Associated Press, BBC Scotland, BBC Studios & Post Production, BT Sport, ICS Media Production, Mediahouse, Radio-Television Slovenia, Radio Television Suisse, RT, RTL City, TBN and Telegraph Media.

"In this latest version, we have redesigned the lateral support beams so that display panels can be mounted even more easily than before. The beam profile is now square-section rather than trapezoidal,” said Reed, adding that Media Wall is available in custom element widths.

Cable management within MediaWall has also been improved and is now secured via steel ducts rather than plastic. The new ducts are stronger and more attractively styled, which work well in open-plan control rooms. The supporting leg sides are now in black instead of silver, to match the latest Module-R desk styles were introduced last September.

Custom Consoles' Media Wall allows flat-screen monitor displays of practically any width to be constructed from standard horizontal and vertical support elements. Media Wall can be used as a fully self-supporting structure or coupled directly to the studio wall. Individual screens can be positioned so that the edges meet exactly to form a continuous horizontal display limited only by the boundary of the monitor panel itself. All wiring is fully concealed and can enter or leave the structure at any desired point.
