Hong Kong Broadcaster Upgrades Workflow Storage With Facilis

Facilis, a maker of turnkey shared storage and archiving systems, has helped Hong Kong’s Taoist religious and cultural organization Fung Ying Seen Koon (FYSK) upgrade its production workflow with a Facilis TerraBlock 24D 48TB shared storage system in its new broadcast production facility in Hong Kong.

Pictures Planes, a Hong Kong-based systems integration specialist, helped FYSK redesign, construct and commission the channel’s new IT and broadcast infrastructure, studio and production facilities. Under the new workflow, the Facilis TerraBlock 24D supports five craft editors working at Adobe Premier Pro workstations along with a single high-end graphics workstation. The system replaces a generic IT solution with isolated storage at each workstation with the shared storage system, encouraging more creative collaboration. The entire system was tested and went online full time this year.

"The Facilis solution has transformed the way we work, making our team much more productive and able to focus on the creative aspects of their jobs,” said Chris Poon, Producer at FYSK.
