ViewLift to Stream Content From The Great Courses

The Great Courses Plus - A new video learning service coming in Fall of 2015.
The Great Courses has partnered with ViewLift, a technology platform for delivering content to web, mobile and OTT, to introduce a new video learning service later this year.
The subscription service, called The Great Courses Plus, is currently in testing as an invitation-only beta. It will soon be available via customized apps across many of the 27 web, mobile and over-the-top (OTT) devices enabled by the ViewLift platform, including Android, iOS, Kindle Fire, Roku and select connected TVs.
ViewLift’s streaming video team, proprietary technology and industry expertise has helped optimize distribution of The Great Courses extensive video library for this market.
The Great Courses Plus will feature unlimited access to nearly 5,000 in-depth video series from award-winning professors on subjects including history, science, travel, health and wellness, food and wine, professional development and more. The company has marketed its audio and video series for 25 years via media such as DVD, CD, download, web streaming and mobile apps. This will mark its first foray into subscription video on demand.
“Our mission is to empower lifelong learning by bringing the world’s greatest professors to viewers any time and any place they want to learn,” said Scott Ableman, Chief Marketing Officer. “Partnering with ViewLift enabled The Great Courses to accelerate this mission. We could not have launched so quickly on so many devices without their expertise, and our customers will benefit for years to come from the many features of the platform.”
“I’ve been a customer of The Great Courses for nearly a decade,” said Rick Allen, CEO of ViewLift and parent company, SnagFilms, Inc. “That’s why I am particularly excited they’ve chosen ViewLift as their subscription service partner. From learning photography on an iPad to ancient history on Roku, together we will stimulate and satisfy curiosity, at home and on the run.”
