SGL gets transfer link with Aspera

Using the latest version of FlashNet operators can create additional rules that send material directly to the cloud
Ahead of NAB, SGL is integrating its FlashNet archive solution with high-speed file transfer software provider Aspera. The idea is that broadcasters and content owners can transfer media to a private or commercial cloud at a guaranteed speed benefitting from an additional means of storage and disaster recovery workflows.
FlashNet provides fully-automated data duplication across multiple storage layers and locations. Using the latest version of FlashNet operators can create additional rules that send material directly to the cloud. The FlashNet archive is able to track and record exactly where material is at any given time regardless of long-term storage method.
Douglas Wynn, SGL’s VP sales Americas, explains, “Using the cloud for disaster recovery purposes provides a secure and cost-effective place for material that’s only likely to be restored in the event of a catastrophic failure. We’re delighted to announce this integration with Aspera further highlighting FlashNet’s scalability, resilience, flexibility and adaptability.”
