Leader Instruments Chosen For Major Tournament

Leader’s intuitive CINEZONE and CINELITE tools make quality production easier for camera crews, editors and colorists.

Leader Instruments LV5350 portable waveform monitors and LV7300 rasterizers were chosen as reference test instruments for broadcast television coverage of a major football tournament scheduled to be held next year in Cameroon. The games are scheduled to take place in January and February at city venues for live transmission across Africa and around the world. The instruments are being provided by Leader Europe's Brussels-based distribution partner Studiotech SA.

These make the portable model particularly useful for camera crews needing to ensure optimal signal quality right from the front end of the production chain. The same tools are also widely used in postproduction both for their precision and their efficiency. Here the LV7300 comes into its own as a channel-assignable confirmation display on a video wall which can be seen by an entire presentation team."

The LV5350 waveform monitor and LV7300 rasterizer incorporate all the SDI facilities of the top-of-the-range LV5600 and LV7600 minus the IP measurement capabilities which are currently required by only a minority of production and postproduction teams. These include engineering-related features such as test pattern generation, closed-caption monitoring, CIE color chart, high dynamic range measurement, focus assist, customizable screen layout, tally interface, 4K/UHD operation and 12G-SDI interfaces. The LV5350 and LV7300 also incorporate Leader's intuitive CINEZONE and CINELITE which are familiar to many camera crews, editors and colorists. A focus detection algorithm enables the two instruments to sense edges across a very wide range of image contrast levels. The LV7300 rasterizer offers exactly the same capabilities as the LV5350 but in a low-profile 19 half-rack-width 1U form-factor for easy rack or desk mounting. Eye pattern display is available as an option for this model.
