NEP Switzerland Adopts Nimbra-Based Network For Live Over The Internet Video Transport

Looking to help its clients make their video transmissions more affordable systems integrator and services provider NEP Switzerland is now deploying a Nimbra-based network from Net Insight that facilitates the delivery of professional live media over the Internet. The new network, which will enable NEP Switzerland to deliver broadcast media quality services over the most challenging network conditions, will be operational at the end of July 2019.

NEP Switzerland said it would utilize Net Insight’s Internet-based media transport solution for professional live content and is now building a fully redundant solution. The system will be used for event activities to locations where fiber or satellite uplinks are either not available or cost prohibitive.

Trond Hermansen, CTO at NEP Switzerland, said they see “great future potential” for this type of network solution.

The Net Insight Nimbra Managed Media Network helps transport premium content to any audience. Users can mix static and occasional demand services for live, interactive and on-demand content in the same network with guaranteed characteristics. Built around the company’s flagship Nimbra MSR, the company offers an entire portfolio of solutions that provide carrier-grade performance and availability, with flexibility for future capacity growth and functional needs.
