Black Box Shows 4K KVM Switching and a Software-Based Video Wall Controller at IBC

At IBC, Black Box featured the new Unified, 4K KVM System, Emerald, and their infinitely scalable, future-proof video wall, Radian Flex.
Black Box demonstrated new solutions that connect users with multiple remote servers and virtual machines across IP networks to leverage collaboration and sharing of IT infrastructure at IBC 2018.
The featured high-performance KVM systems distribute high-quality video, audio and peripheral signals and let users switch between all connected resources. With its new video wall software platform, Black Box also provides a user-friendly and highly-scalable system to display any video and data feed on a video wall of any size and composition.
“Our new KVM and video wall solutions are helping broadcasters optimize workflows and save on IT investments because they make management, future deployment and sharing of resources easier than ever before,” said Josh Whitney, senior vice president at Black Box. “With Emerald and Radian Flex, Black Box has provided the broadcast industry connectivity and content visualization technology that will help it well into the future."
The Emerald Unified KVM Platform is the first-ever converged KVM solution for distributing high-quality video, audio and peripheral signals throughout expanding hybrid environments that include both IP and proprietary direct-connect networks, mixed resolutions up to UHD/4K and any number and combination of physical and virtual desktops and servers.
Black Box also announced that its line of Secure KVM Switches has been added to the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) product compliant list. All switches have been tested and certified, meeting the strict requirements of the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) 3.0.
The new Black Box Secure KVM line includes the industry’s first NIAP 3.0-certified secure KVM matrix switches and a KVM protector. Altogether, they isolate each computer source with shared peripheral access to protect classified information against accidental transfer, unauthorized access or compromise of data.
