Inview’s origins go back to 1996 when two members of today’s management team – Ken and Julie Austin – built a team of engineers specialising in digital TV software solutions.
Inview provided a class leading EPG, broadcast data service and a digital TV software platform for the free to air terrestrial market. These new products were developed to address the need for a class leading EPG in the UK that could be deployed on low‐cost set-top boxes without incurring additional costs.
Inview is deployed in over 10 million products across 30 brands. Independent research (conducted by MORAR, a specialist brand measurement company), established end-user satisfaction levels of 96%.
Inview established a successful new digital TV advertising medium for broadcasters in the UK including Virgin, Sky and ITV.
In 2009, when the world was still focused on HD, the Inview team realized that connected TV offered significant potential for growth as the next key innovation in TV. The focus was now on the development holistic UI that ran on thin client low‐cost TV platform with modular infrastructure providing connected services.
Today, set-top boxes with Inview inside are available in Italy, Spain, Poland, Portugal, France and Germany.
