ProSiebenSat.1 Selects Codemill as Partner for MAM Update

Codemill has been selected as custom development partner to assist German media company ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE in their media management modernisation project. The project, which will be delivered in four phases, is part of a larger infrastructure modernisation initiative.

The company will replace its legacy media asset management (MAM) system with Cantemo Portal, which will become ProSiebenSat.1’s primary system for digital media management and distribution. Codemill’s familiarity with Cantemo Portal, as well as a proven track record of executing projects of a similar scope, were key considerations in the selection process.

The project involves the experienced Swedish trio of Cantemo, Vidispine and Codemilland German company Dimensiona; it is Codemill's largest engagement into the German market — to which they will bring a unique blend of knowledge, skills and expertise in workflow customization, video technology and UX design.

The project is divided into four phases, and involves seven employees from Codemill with UX, workflow customization and Cantemo / Vidispine integration expertise.

Phase one focuses on building the basic platform architecture and implementing distribution supply for Free TV. The second phase will focus on video transformation, and non-linear distribution to realize first end-2-end workflows.

In the third phase, a few existing MAM and MAM-related systems will be migrated by more complex workflows in a step by step manner. The fourth and final phase will be focused on consolidation and conclusion of the project, which is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2019.
