Manfrotto Introduces Element Carbon Fiber Tripods

Manfrotto has introduced two ultra-light Element carbon fiber tripods with weight capacities of 8.82 and 17.64 pounds.

Manfrotto said the three-position carbon fiber legs feature twist locks, and the larger of the two has a detachable leg that can be fitted to the center column to form a full-sized monopod.

The ball-and-socket heads that come with the legs are made from aluminum and use an Arca-style quick release plate. The maximum height of the new tripods is 56.3 inches for the small version and 64.57 inches for the large one. They weigh 2.3 and 3.08 pounds, respectively.

The company emphasizes that new tripods are reliable, lightweight and easy to carry. Both feature a compact and sturdy carbon fiber construction that makes them strong but still very portable. The twist lock mechanism enables users to get into the right position fast, while the aluminum ball head is designed to deliver fast movement when framing and a firm lock for setting up equipment.

Both feature a carry bag, an additional set of spike feet (big tripod only) and an Allen key to fix and tighten gear. The new tripods start in price at about $230.00.
