Sennheiser: HandMic Digital Is Now Available

Sennheiser said its HandMic Digital Microphone for Apple’s iOS devices, Macs and PCs is now shipping.

Sennheiser said the HandMic Digital is a rugged hand microphone highly resistant to the EMI from cell phone interference. It offers suppression of handling, wind and ambient noise, which is important when recording in noisy environments.

The dynamic HandMic Digital features Apogee’s A/D converter and pre-amp technologies for direct connection to USB or Lightning ports. It features an all-metal housing and shock-mounted capsule to suppress handling noise.

The microphone is resistant to wind noise and can cut through high ambient noise levels, ensuring excellent speech presence even in loud environments. The mic can be used with common media production programs and apps.

Apogee’s apps allow the user to record audio, control the microphone gain and activate functions such as a rumble reducer, overload eliminator or hiss reducer. A red status LED indicates that the microphone is streaming audio.

The mic is supplied with two 6.5 foot connection cables (Micro USB to Lightning for Apple's iOS devices, and Micro USB to USB type A for Macs and PCs), a microphone clamp and a table stand. A pouch and a quick guide are also included.
