This version of Springboard is perfect for operators that are looking to serve their traditional set-top users with an advanced services platform. New set-tops are not required to generate new revenue and decrease subscriber churn when a QAM VOD Springboard can be added cost effectively to the service network.
The IP Live + IP VOD solution provides VOD and live adaptive bitrate (ABR) streaming to IP devices. Services include VOD ingest, live ABR channel provisioning, storage and ABR streaming. Just-in-time packaging supports Apple HTTP Live-Streaming, Microsoft Smooth Streaming, Adobe HTTP Dynamic Streaming, and MPEG-DASH. Just-in-time encryption integrates with popular DRM systems such as PlayReady, Secure Media, Verimatrix, Irdeto, and DASH Common Encryption. Operators deploying Springboard with IP Live + IP VOD can offer new services in a more flexible, cost-effective package. The Unified Content Delivery Network (CDN) solution, meanwhile, is a comprehensive offering for ingesting, hosting, distributing and streaming video content to any device, at any time, over any network. Leveraging a common architecture, Unified CDN supports all the features and functionality of both the QAM VOD and IP Live + IP VOD solutions. Service providers with a mixed QAM and IP infrastructure can cost-effectively deliver services to all of their subscribers on all of their devices. Additionally, the use of CDN caches gives service providers that ability to creatively design their networks to minimize cost and maximize the end-user experience. Support and advanced features
The Media Delivery Springboard includes the added benefits of a full roster of warranty and support services, with the first year of support included. Concurrent provides initial remote software configuration and training. Support services include application logging for key events, Simple Network Management Protocol management information base for system monitoring, and remote support for troubleshooting, maintenance and software upgrades.
Add-on features include a migration path for additional services and capacity growth. Users can add external storage (i.e. Concurrent Aquari) to increase storage capacity for larger libraries and support server scalability. Aquari, Concurrent’s scale-out storage product, boasts an open platform that offers flexible multiprotocol connectivity. Data stays available even with a failure of one or more components, whether it is a drive, controller, NIC, switch or node. And, with self-healing abilities, the system redistributes data across all remaining nodes and drives automatically.
Operators who utilize the Media Delivery Springboard can also add servers to increase live ABR ingest capacity, add servers to increase egress streaming capacity and add time-shift TV (Catch-Up TV, ReStart TV) and cloud DVR features. The solutions support up to 25,000 users or 5Gbps streaming capacity. They can handle 10 live ABR channels and 16,000 hours at standard definition.
