Xytech Simplifies Transmission And Automation Workflows

Xytech’s has new Transmission and Digital Order Automation features for MediaPulse; the company has also joined AMWA.

Xytech’s latest release of MediaPulse is for broadcast personnel to reserve, provision and monitor specific feeds, while simplifying the process of booking routes. Available as both on-premise and cloud installations, the release also has a notification engine, personalized feed dashboards and a Big Board list of feeds appropriate for publication to the entire facility.

Greg Dolan, COO; "There is a host of new functionality included: for instance, the system can become 'network aware' automatically; making a software defined network easily configured and it is completely localizable. If our customers need to transmit a broadcast signal between any two points, MediaPulse transmission makes the entire process more efficient while removing any uncertainty."

MediaPulse Reporting — the company's automation module — is able to capture an order and drive required tasks to ensure a seamless order process.

“The new Digital Order Automation module in MediaPulse streamlines the complex, expensive and time-consuming workflow processes all media servicing and broadcast facilities face,” explains Dolan “The software also integrates with third-party applications through an open adapter technology so order automation and multi system workflows are truly seamless. The result is a workflow elegantly navigating multiple dependencies across a range of possibilities.”

Xytech has also joined AMWA to ensure its systems are interoperable with all media workflows.

Specifically, Xytech uses Networked Media Open Specifications (NMOS) to monitor and manage devices within each media company’s network. These specifications provide the ability for all vendors’ equipment and software to advertise themselves on the network the same way — to track what devices or software are in use and what task each one is completing. This helps broadcasters better track and monetize each process.

“AMWA is leading the industry with its open specifications to support management of software and equipment on a network,” says Daniel Lynch, Xytech vp of Broadcast Services. “With the work of the AMWA and the NMOS incubator project, Xytech understands the future is IP-based solutions as they offer broadcasters the flexibility to explore new business models, maintain top-of-the-line networks and add new capabilities without proprietary lock-ins or having to rebuild workflows. However, this will only work if common languages are utilized and are working in an interoperable fashion. This is why we feel it is important for Xytech to join AMWA."
