Imagine Communications new products and upgrades at IBC 2017

Imagine Communications will introduce a number of new products at IBC 2017, with enhancements for existing ranges. With its increasing focus on IP-based systems, the company will be increasing its implementation of internet protocol technologies. These will include the new Selenio Network Processor, plus upgrades for the Versio playout system.

As broadcasters, distributors and other media outlets continue to adopt IT methodologies and broadband connectivity, Imagine Communications, like many other broadcast equipment manufacturers, is producing more products to cater for this shift. A key part of this is being able to process networked signals. The Selenio Network Processor (SNP) is fully IP-based and able to handle uncompressed Ultra HD feeds in the SMPTE ST-2110 IP transport standard.

Playout has already embraced IP and Imagine's system for this market, Versio, now features a new interface with the capability for greater interfacing through the Cloud-Native and hybrid playout and master control devices. These combine playout, automation and graphics in a virtualised environment, including the cloud. The Versio system offers multichannel distribution with UHD and branding capability. On the storage side the Version IOX, which allows users to select the scale of the system and share material on a network, will be demonstrated in both SAN (storage area network) and NAS (network attached storage) configurations.

Imagine will also be showing its live production systems, including the Platinum SDI-IP IP3 router and UHD-capable EPIC MV multiviewer, along with advertising management tools. The manufacturer is also staging a series of seminars. master classes and presentations on IP and other new technologies. These will take place on Imagine's stand, 4.A01, in the Amtrium. Additionally there will be more information about the Open Zenium programme to encourage innovation and development of the Zenium micro-services library.
