EVS Enables 4K Recording of BRICS China 2017

Multiple EVS solutions will be used to cover the political summit in Xiamen by the Xiamen Media Group.

BRICS China is the eighth annual meeting between Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. This important event in the region’s political schedules will be captured live in HD by XMG’s Xiamen TV. The programming will be broadcast on its news channel XMTV-1 and on CCTV-1 as well as CCTV-4, CCTV-13 and China Radio International.

To accompany these broadcasts, Xiamen TV will also produce programming in UHD-4K – a feed which will be recorded for future use as well as for online broadcast.

To cover this high-profile event, Xiamen Media Group will deploy a number of EVS solutions, including XT4K, XT3 live production servers, IPDirector management systems, Xfile file transfer tool and Ingest funnel applications.

Implemented into Xiamen’ Media Group’s production center, the EVS servers will ingest up to 20 HD signals as well as several UHD-4K feeds. IPDirector will allow operators to attach metadata to ingested content as well as make online edits to ingested assets and create and manage content playlists. Editors using the center’s NLE systems will be able to easily browse and search content using added metadata, which lets them take advantage of intuitive integration across the production infrastructure through a joined-up server system and post-production facilities.
