Paradigm Unveils Swarm45 Satellite Terminal at IBC2017

Paradigm, a provider of satellite transport technology for newsgathering and other remote production applications, will demonstrate its flat panel Swarm45 terminal for SNG applications at IBC 2017.

With the Paradigm Swarm45, correspondents can travel light, be first off the plane and be first to setup and transmit photos and HD video. Deployment is fast and straightforward, with setup achievable in 90 seconds. Even an unskilled operator can then be on the air in around 240 seconds. This is due to the PIM (Paradigm Interface Module), a terminal controller that uses audio and visual cues and provides on board monitor and control to manageable terminal components. Pointing is quick and simple with no need for external pointing tools or a laptop.

The Swarm45 integrates the latest in VSAT technology and high-throughput but is as simple to use as the Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN). It is commercially agile, configurable for Ka, Ku and X-Band frequencies, and operational on a range of high-throughput satellite networks including Global Xpress, Avanti, Intelsat Epic and Telenor’s Thor 7.

The lightweight Swarm45 packs down into a backpack or hard case, so it is small and light enough to be transported as airline hand luggage. It is the perfect solution for broadcasters wanting to be first on the scene, breaking news to the world.
