Shotoku to Show Graphica VR and AR Cranes at IBC 2017

At IBC, Shotoku will demonstrate its range of portable manual virtual and augmented reality tracked camera cranes that are scalable, stable and repeatable.

Shotoku will demonstrate the Graphica VR and AR cranes. The Graphica series is the fusion of VR technology and the engineering know-how of crane maker, CamMate. Graphica calculates positional data output from embedded physical rotary encoders designed specifically for VR applications.

Free of the jitters, external markers and area limitations often associated with other positional tracking systems, Shotoku encoders process data via the SPI interface to provide real-time data output, in the studio or on location.

CamMate cranes have been in use in the television and film industry for over 20 years and, with a philosophy of continuous improvement, are admired for their quality of engineering and the creative camerawork made possible by the smoothness and control of the high-performance servos.

Shotoku will also highlight its “Smart” solutions, including: SmartPed, a fully robotic XY pedestal, and SmartTrack, a ceiling mounted rail track camera system.

Shotoku also said it will show is Free-d2 next-generation absolute tracking system at the show.
