Globecast Zooms In On Content Republishing And Online Distribution At IBC 2017

Globecast, the content management wing of the French Orange group, will highlight republishing and online distribution solutions at IBC 2017 in Amsterdam.

Globecast is launching its Live2VOD MultiEvents Media platform, exploiting existing contribution technology to give content owners a package that can be tailored to their requirements for accessing, managing, editing and republishing live content for on-demand viewing across multiple devices. Globecast’s intelligent media management system allows customers’ editorial teams to create fast turnaround video stories for social media distribution, according to the firm. Using automated workflow, customers can then quickly share content across multiple platforms.

To support online distribution, Globecast will showcase its GCXN package that is designed to provide rapid set-up over the public Internet. Globecast claims customers can entrust their main distribution, disaster recovery and monitoring services with broadcast-grade quality to this platform. The aim is to reach new audiences with secure and robust online transport, with remote end-to-end service management.

The company offers also My Globecast, which allows operators to manage their media management and distribution-related services, with services supervision, incident management and planned maintenance communication.

Globecast will also be announcing its Cloud Channel Playout solution for SD, HD and 4K channels, which is designed to improve service deployment efficiency and speed time-to-market. The firm will also demonstrate the expanding capabilities of its TV Everywhere OTT Video services through its ecosystem of partners. The solution offers mobile apps for smartphone and tablets, while supporting smart TV apps from Roku, Samsung, LG, Android TV and Netgem.
