CatDV Worker 7 is a general-purpose automation engine that enables users to build customized workflows and automate file processing. "In this latest version, Worker 7 has been redesigned to run as a service for enterprise-scale and cloud deployments, with new tools for remote monitoring and transcoding support. Plus, the new graphical workflow design tool makes creating and managing tasks much easier and more intuitive," said Dave Clack, CEO of Square Box Systems.

Worker 7 offers the ability to automate functions such as content ingest, proxy creation, transcoding (including control of external transcoders), content movement and archiving, and file renaming.

There’s a new GUI for clicking and dragging options into a flow-chart-style view.

Other new Worker 7 enhancements include the ability to run as a background service that starts automatically when the computer starts up, rather than requiring a desktop login session. For larger organizations, the option for a dashboard for operators to remotely monitor multiple Worker 7 services running on different machines.
