Genelec Launches New Compact Additions to its Smart Active Monitoring Range at IBC 2014

Over the last eight years Genelec has designed audio monitoring products that allow monitor loudspeakers to automatically adapt to the acoustics of the monitoring room. At IBC 2014 the company has added a new generation of systems to its Smart Active Monitoring (SAM) product line-up with two new compact monitors and a new sub-bass unit.

The new monitor loudspeakers, the 8320 and 8330, and a new 7350 subwoofer complement the existing SAM range. The 8320 and 8330 monitors feature Genelec’s Minimum Diffraction Enclosure (MDE™), made of recycled die-cast aluminium as well as the Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW™), which provides very precise on- and off-axis imaging even in challenging acoustic environments.

The new Genelec 7350 SAM subwoofer is designed to accompany both 8320 and 8330 SAM monitors.

New Genelec Loudspeaker Manager software (GLM™) 2.0, along with a new measurement microphone, allows the speakers to be set up and aligned for the acoustic environment. GLM enables a consistent listening environment to be achieved across different rooms.
