Tata Communications Selects Sky Communications’ Dataminer For Media Delivery

Tata Communications will use Skyline Communications’ DataMiner platform as an end-to-end network, service, SLA, and operational support system for Tata’s global media services.
The Skyline Communications' new DataMiner Service and Resource Manager (SRM) will serve as the foundation for Tata Communications' dynamic media networks. DataMiner SRM is unique, as this technology truly links service and resource management with the network itself, i.e. an operator can only book and activate resources that are effectively available for use. DataMiner makes no assumptions that resources may be available, but rather checks availability in real time, at any time. DataMiner lowers operational expenses and enables operators to focus on getting the most out of their infrastructure.
The DataMiner multi-vendor platform monitors and orchestrates services across any technology, regardless of vendor or type of technology. Using DataMiner, users have the freedom to deploy any technology from any vendor in the network, now and in the future, as DataMiner is guaranteed to interoperate with any type of device and system regardless of protocol or supplier. The platform is fully agnostic to specific technologies, and as such has the unique capability to book, reserve and activate services truly end to end.
Operators can orchestrate complex services that run over a broad collection of video compression encoders, NetInsight SDH links, video decoders, etc., all in one go. The DataMiner Connectivity Framework orchestrates the media paths end to end, from ingress point to egress, affording us more insight into our network.
