Partnership Enables V-Nova to Launch PERSEUS-Powered P.Link HD

2016 NAB Show launch strengthens partnership between Elber and V-Nova to enable best possible video across all contribution networks. P.Link HD leverages the step-change in video compression performance of V-Nova PERSEUS to provide a 30-50% bandwidth reduction for visually lossless HD video backhaul.

Video compression solutions provider V-Nova Ltd., and video transport experts Elber s.r.l., launched their joint P.Link HD solution for contribution and remote production at the 2016 NAB Show. Dynamic multiplexing and compression performance of P.Link HD combine to make multi-camera feeds and remote production economically viable.

The new solution leverages the powerful performance of V-Nova PERSEUS, demonstrated during the coverage of El Clasico in 4K/UHD and selected by Eutelsat for 4K/UHD contribution of Euro 2016 matches, into a cost-effective HD platform for widespread adoption throughout the broadcast industry.

The new high-density P.Link HD solution combines the Elber Cleber platform with V-Nova PERSEUS video compression to increase contribution video quality. The simultaneous reduction of bandwidth requirements is an exciting win-win for all transporters of HD video.

V-Nova PERSEUS is a video processing technology that addresses today’s video delivery challenges. PERSEUS software closes the capacity gap for visually lossless contribution of premium feeds over existing infrastructure. It redraws the traditional quality-bitrate curve, enabling operators to contribute video simultaneously at both higher quality and a lower bitrate.

Cleber is a powerful, flexible and modular hardware and software platform for broadcasting and contribution networks. The Elber modular design enables Cleber to support video transport over ASI, IP, DVB-S/S2 and DVB-T and HD/SD video encoders.
