Pronology Introduces mRes

Pronology launched mRes, a standalone multi-resolution encoder which enables various resolutions, codecs and frame rates to be created in realtime simultaneously.

The new product records uncompressed video for each SDI input channel, prior to compression and wrapping. It then creates, in real-time or faster, a high-resolution media file, an edit proxy and a live web-streamable proxy that gives users flexibility and ease of use at a low cost point.

“This unique, uncompressed recording architecture allows mRes to provide various file formats without any loss of quality or signal degradation,” says Pronology. “This is due to the fact that each copy is created from the original uncompressed file.
When using mRes, a production team now has access to the content they need, in any of the required compression formats, instantaneously.”
