​Quickplay and Harmonic Partner

Quickplay has announced a partnership with Harmonic to provide a cloud-based, premium video platform service.

The partnership will leverage Quickplay’s multi-tenant video platform, powered by its software defined headend and integrate extensive features of Harmonic’s video delivery infrastructure solutions based on software-based media processing platform VOS.

“The ability to scale based on demand will provide significant savings, and pay-as-you-grow model is well suited to existing operating expenditure models and the economics of new OTT service launches,” says Mike Couture, Quickplay’s senior vice president of product and marketing. “Harmonic brings a variety of industry leading capabilities to our platform service, including packaging-on-the-fly, live-to-VOD, cloud-DVR, and highly efficient software-based transcoders that work together to help run our business with the highest quality and the lowest cost. This is critical for our multi-tenant platform efficiency and allows us to pass on the cost savings to our customers.”
