RR Media Expands to Latin America with Miami Media Hub

RR Media, the Israeli based provider of global digital media services, has opened a regional Media Center in Miami to serve Latin America. The center will transmit content to Hispanic and Portuguese viewers across Latin America (Latam) as well as audiences in the USA and Canada.

The center includes a 95,000 square foot production facility as well as a playout center and Master Control Suites (MCRs) for channel origination. It will complement RR Media’s existing US East Coast facility.

The LATAM Media Center gives regional broadcasters, TV channels and sports organizations access to RR Media’s content preparation, management, playout and delivery services, enabling delivery of both regional and localized content. Services include local ad insertion, multi-format playout and remote uplink to RR Media’s smart global network.

The company anticipates healthy growth across Latin America despite the current pay TV contraction in Brazil, its largest and only Portuguese speaking market. This is counterbalanced by strong growth in some other markets including its second largest Mexico, as well as Chile.

Neyra, RR Media’s Head of Latin America & Hispanic Markets. “This new facility enables RR Media to connect both LATAM to the world, and the globe world to LATAM, enabling our customers to extend their global reach and generate new monetization opportunities. Miami is a perfect gateway for LATAM.”

RR Media’s Americas facilities and infrastructure, as well as its virtualized digital media services including solar, are being presented at the Renaissance Hotel, next to Las Vegas Convention Center, throughout the NAB Show.
